International Decora Day Melbourne Meet
Every IDD, the last Sunday of July, Kenny @eeveethejedi hosts a Melbourne meet. I’ve interviewed him about the meet which you can read here:
“Hii I'm Kenny! I'm a cosplayer and artist, and I've been wearing decora for over seven years now. I love the whimsy of it and hope to never lose my spark!”
“The International Decora Day Melbourne meet is held on the last Saturday of July every year. About a month out from the event I put out an info post on my instagram outlining the specifics, but we tend to meet outside the Melbourne Museum. We have a picnic and partake in an accessory swap meet! RSVP is required to attend the event, and can be done by sending me a message on instagram!”
Q: Do you know about any Decora related events prior to the IDD meet that you host?
"I did not! the closest I could find was the harajuku photowalk that happens in Melbourne every few years."
Q: How long have you been hosting the decora meet and what motivates you each year to continue?
"I've been hosting the Melbourne IDD meet since 2023! It makes people happy and allows us to make more decora friends, so I will continue to do it!"
Q: Are there any activities or yearly rituals that happen at these meets?
"Every year we have a picnic and host an accessory swap meet :3"
Q: Do you think you will continue to host for years to come, and do you hope the meet will still take place if you move on?
"Absolutely! If I ever move on from decora (which I dont think I ever would), I would hope that one of my friends would take over hosting for me ^^"
