In Lieu of a proper YouTube style vlog (because my filming is poor and it’s so awkward to film in public) I’m writing a blog post instead :>
This is my first blog post, and it’s not really Decora or Jfashion related, but I hope it is interesting nonetheless.
Being totally introverted, it would be absurd for me to organise a fashion meet, let alone a fashion meet with strangers from the internet, but in late April that’s exactly what I found myself doing over on instagram. My only other fashion related experience being Azuritecon, I really wanted to continue to connect with jfashion peeps in Melbourne. Especially before I leave the country for a whole 6 months. I needed one last outing!
I wanted to organize it real casual and made an open invitation on Instagram reels. Since I made my fashion dedicated account in Jan this year, I’ve made around 900 mutuals. Mostly from other countries, but a decent amount of locals too :>
I won’t gush too much over the dorky power of internet friendship, or internet mutuals, however you see it, but it’s something I find incredibly heartwarming. Being apart of a community, even if it’s something as niche and fractured as Jfashion, has already been incredible.
Back to the café story. I managed to wrangle 3 others to come with me despite being terrified of social interactions. It’s something I feel a bit accomplished with, actually… it’s really nice to step out of your comfort zone to pursue something you really value. And for me, that’s fashion and experiences. It’s super sappy, but when I do these kinds of things… dress up, share food, see live music, I think to myself ‘this is the point of living’. It’s my reason to keep going… along with my BF and family Ofc ;)
I want to do many, many more fun adventures with unique people :> and dress as extra as I want!
As usual, I was rushing to get ready on the day. I was feeling a little bad and not so confident, and I didn’t get to test my new white foundation, so I went with a real casual look, which still ended up cute, although I wish I put all my hair clips in retrospect. Overall, I’d consider my outfit casual besides the stupid plastic pinafore, which looks super cute but I hate wearing that thing tbh. It’s not great to sit in. But I decided I absolutely must wear it as it’s my last chance for a few months, because I could not squish it into my luggage to go away. It was well worth it.
I won’t write too much about who I went with for privacy, but everyone was really nice, and a couple were really chatty, which is something I appreciate as an introvert because I open up so much better if people make the effort to talk to me or ask questions. I’m a little dead in the water talking to other introverts, which is a shame because I like them just as much. I’m pretty awkward. Everyone came in stunning outfits as well, there were two Lolita and another HK outfit enjoyer :3 we got some absolutely fantastic pictures together, including a photo station print out! How many times have I walked down that street and not noticed the picture booth 😭 😭
The café itself was stunningly kawaii as expected. I tried my best to get some videos to create a reel or TikTok, but my filming abilities are really bad :p heres some pictures tho. There were two? Maybe three indoor rooms? Okay, technically the ‘outdoor’ part was indoors, but it was outside the cafe building thingy, y’know? I think there were two Cinnamoroll rooms, and one indoor Hello Kitty part, from what looks like it online, but we got seated in the front room and didn’t see the rest. I really liked where we sat because it felt a little private, almost. I don’t really enjoy sitting in the middle of rooms, but off to the side.

Inside, we talked a lot, went on many tangents, and never returned to the main point a decent amount of the time 😂 I ordered a bowl of chips to share and a keroppi matcha milk drink. I didn’t eat too much before I left, so I had to get a Maccas hamburg before the café because I was starving, but I think that worked out better, because while I love all the Hello Kitty dishes, they were fairly pricy. I paid $20 for my two items.
I don’t know how to end the blog post. Maybe a review?
The chips were really good, they were like Maccas chips but a slightly different seasoning. The matcha drink was also super good, very icy, and I ordered mine with less sugar so it had that epic bitter edge that I love in matcha. 8/10 only because maybe the chip portion could have been a little bigger? I think the price is so high, probably because of licensing and also the cost of living rn is crazy. A pub portion of chips would be a similar size but maybe 8.50. So it really wasn’t unreasonable for a Hello Kitty-branded meal. I’d totally go again, and hopefully get seated in a different room.
Apologies for how poorly written this post is. I’m mostly a rambler
Onlysnailz out~ ✌️
